They give you flexibility in the period you want to focus on, I believe. http://www.lsa.umich.edu/mems/ug/ You can always create your own major (at U Mich and probably most schools) and combine history, literature, art history, science, philosophy, and other courses about the Tudor era into a cohesive degree program. Consider studying in England – they’d be more likely to have a program that focuses just on this period. Generaly something this specific would be a graduate program.
