Are there any deadly spiders in UK?

0

Hello Arron, Officially there are no deadly or even harmful spiders living in the wild in the UK. As has been said, there are obviously a number kept in zoos. Also there are some owned by private individuals which they are permitted to keep under licence. It is also possible that there have been a few deadly spiders living in the wild who have escaped from private collections and/or zoos, but they would be far and few between and probably would not survive long. The tarantula spider has been mentioned here, but this species is not native to the UK neither are they classed as deadly, although they can give you a nasty nip and make you quite unwell for a while. However they do have the ability to kill, but this is only in the case of biting someone who may have medical problems and whose immune systems are not up to scratch.
