Are there any dangers of using the Valsalva maneuver when performing full squats?

Answer Roberto, My first inclination is to say — don’t do it when performing squats. I did a little further research to make sure I understood the use of the valsalva maneuver. Here is a link for you to read. I feel it backs up my initial feelings. I wouldn’t do it, especially when performing squats. http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/common/standard/transform.jsp?requestU… I know it is done but I don’t see the advantage and I can’t find any studies (biomechanics, kinesiology or exercise physiology) which support doing that maneuver. Thanks for asking.
