Are there any concerns about exposure due to the fact that asparaginase is used as a cytostatic drug?
We have shown that the Aspergillus enzymes developed for acrylamide reduction are non-cytotoxic. The general toxicological evaluation and safety assessment shows that this is not a concern. Further, the risk assessment for injection of asparaginase for treatment of human tumor cells is not comparable to exposure of healthy subjects by inhalation or orally.
