ASE and SDK/Open Server 12.5.1 are compatible and interoperable with each other (exception noted below). See the Interoperability Matrix for ASE 12.5.1, Open Client/Server and Replication Server on the Sybase Web site. WARNING for ASE and SDK/Open Server on Windows: Installing SDK or Open Server 12.5.1 point products on a Windows machine that already contains a pre-12.5.1 ASE installation may result in that version of ASE failing to start.
