Are there any comparisons between the Oracle BI product vs. Microsofts Business Intelligence suite?
This was selected as Best Answer Any BI tool will look good during the demo. In truth, the difficult part, regardless of which solution you choose, is the data dictionary mapping piece. For a true comparison, list out what your wants and needs. Figure out which ones are showstoppers, and which ones are nice-to-haves. Look at the costs, the licensing model, and the platforms. Invite both companies in for a proof of concept demo. Any written summarizations or checklists are too easy to sway either way depending on the preference of who wrote them. Microsoft’s BI suite may look quite attractive to a customer already using Sharepoint. Oracle’s BI may look more attractive to someone familiar with Seibel. Not sure that helps you or not.
