Are there any common infections or diseases snakes can get from live feeder mice?

There are not usually common infections or diseases that snakes can get from live feeder mice. However, live feeders can fight back when they’re older and bigger- which can cause SERIOUS damage to your snake. They can get nasty scratches and bites, which will scar up if you’re lucky.. If you’re unlucky, the snake can die. Baby mice/rats are pretty much harmless, but once their eyes are open they will fight back. Look at your snakes diameter- you can feed the corn snake something that is the circumference of his largest point on the body. The ball python should be able to eat something up to twice as large as his biggest circumference. You’d be suprised what a snake can actually eat- detachable jaws come in handy! Also, you’ll know if its too big if the snake tries to eat it and regurgitates it, or can’t.
