Are there any Commercial auditions in Maryland and DC?

There really are no “open” auditions in the area. You should find yourself a talent agency with a good reputation. There are lots of scams out there, so be careful. If you are asked for money, it’s not a legit business. Once you have an agent you may be called for an audition. To audition for local plays bring up the theater’s website and check the audition schedule or review the “Auditions” column in the Arts section of the Post and Times. It is usually to the far right of the theater listings. It wouldn’t hurt to have some head shots done to send out. Take some acting lessons, too, if you can afford it. It helps to know how to carry yourself, what to do with your hands, how to stand and walk, etc. Again there are lots of scam artists so be very careful. Check with the Better Business Bureau before you lay out money for any company.
