Are there any charities that accept foods from gardens?
That’s very generous of you. I can’t think of any charities right off hand, but you could always try your local food bank (since I’ve been seeing so many times on the world news lately about how food banks are running deseperately low on food supplies). You could also try your local grocery store. I live in a small town myself and two grocery stores here I’ve seen myself where they are selling veggies that have been grown right here in this town! (Well.. technically not IN town. The people live a small distance out in the countryside, but still.) I know that one of the two stores here, when I’ve had extra chrysanthemums, basils, and chocolate mints, they were more than happy to accept them. One day when I was in there, a young couple came in with a small cardboard box full of tomatoes they’d grown. After they’d left the store, I went to the counter to check out, and there sat the box of tomatoes beside it, saying the price of the tomatoes and that they were grown right here in town! (T
