Hi, There isn’t that much in English for learning Cape Verdean by yourself – most of material is in Portuguese, French or German. A “Creole” is a language that develops from languages imported into a country, usually by colonizers – for example, the Creole spoken in Haiti is derived from French. According to Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Verdean_Crioulo_languages ) 90% of the vocabulary of the nine forms of Creole spoken in Cape Verde is Portugeuse, so probably it would be easier to learn Portugeuse and get one of the many guides in Portugeuse to the language to tell you about the grammar, pronounciation and vocabulary of Cape Verdean.
