Are there any benefits for the Vietnam Veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange?
Yes. If a veteran served in Vietnam and suffers from one of the named cancers, it is presumed that he was exposed to Agent Orange, and will be compensated for it. Currently, those cancers are: cancer of the bronchus, cancer of the larnyx, lung cancer, prostrate cancer, cancer of the trachea, Hodgkins Disease, Multiple Myeloma, Non-hodgkins Lymphona, soft tissue sarcoma. Other diseases are: peripheral neuropathy, chloracne, porphyria cutanea tarda. Children of Vietnam veterans who were born with spina bifida are also eligible for service-connected compensation benefits. Diabetes Mellitus has just been added as a presumptive disease.
