Are there any after effects to Blepharoplasty or eye lift surgery?
As some swelling and bruising could persist for up to 14 days after surgery, we recommend patients wear sunglasses to protect against strong light and that contact lens are avoided during first week. Written after care instructions are issued recommending eye areas are washed in salt water and covered ice packs used to reduce swelling and discomfort. Post operative discomfort should be expected which can normally control using over the counter pain killers. In the unlikely event of any unusual post-surgery side effects patients should contact the clinic prior to their scheduled follow up appointment to ensure that prompt after care is obtained.
