Are there any advantages to having class aboard the Concordia?

There is much less monotony because classes are stopped to watch dolphins, albatrosses, and fish. We also experience most of the subjects we are learning. For example, in anthropology, we study cultures as we visit them and have the chance to experience culture shock (which can be a good thing), and learn about the customs and legends that we might not understand otherwise. We live marine biology because we are on the ocean. When we catch fish, we have the chance to see exactly how they work because we get to dissect them (only if we want to, of course). When we are in port, we get to go on field trips to beaches, coral reefs, volcanoes and tide pools. In general, all of our work is much more hands-on than in a regular classroom. Extra help is readily available because we live with our teachers who are sometimes awake quite late into the ni
