Yes, there are many additional costs. The fines and court fees set by the judicial system are the sole responsibility of the defendant. Fees charged by the state Division of Motor Vehicles may add to the additional expenses. In addition to the above, the investigational fee related to DWI charge is also the responsibility of the defendant. These fees are in the range of $2,000 and $8,000. As you can see, a big mistake seems to become bigger and bigger when the fees start adding up but in the long run, it is better to sacrifice your money that your freedom and your rights. Personally, I’d rather be sitting at home with my family. Don’t skimp on quality service. We all want to save money for things other than lawyer’s fees but your freedom is important. Don’t put money in your pocket and lose your freedom after a DWI expense.
