Are there a lot of British immigrants in Victoria, BC?
Like most of BC, Victoria is quite a multi-cultural city however a lot of the older families have British roots. As a result many parts of Victoria still have a British feel to them and high tea and other British customs are still observed. The downtown area of Victoria, especially near the inner harbour and the older neighbourhoods still retain this feel.
there aren’t that many that i can recall, and i’ve lived here most of my life, but thats not to say that there are non at all, victoria is a very mixed society, there are brits, but not as many compared to immigrants from other areas, such as in vancouver..there are more asians then caucasians it seems, but victoria defiantly is the place to visit, it has something for everyone, its very clean, has a great night life, don’t take the sea plane as mentioned, either take a plane to vancouver if you want to spend time in vancouver ( downtown vancouver is amazing for shopping and also has alot of things still left from the olympics, also i suggest going to the starbucks on homer and Robson everyone working there looks like a model! 😛 and also theres metro town thats a HUGE mall, also vancouver has tons to do and see other then shopping, but being in victoria thats my main reasons to go over) BUT if you dont want to go to vancouver and take the ferry to victoria, most people tend to forget
