Are their different rules for soccer in different countries?
Answer Unlike High School soccer in the USA, the rest of the world basically uses the same Laws of the Game from FIFA in every country. United States Soccer Federation (USSF), FIFA’s representative in the USA, has issued some modifications to the Laws for Youth play and for “veteran players.” These modifications are in the Administrative Handbook for Referees which is posted on the USSF website in the Referee section. Around the world, each league has been known to make certain modifications to the Laws as they have seen fit to do. Other competitions may make some modifications such as allowing coaches to substitute for a yellow card so that the player has a little time to calm down. They may also have some competition rule that allows unlimited substitution or they may only allow 3 substitutions.
