Are their any death risks of getting a breast reduction?
There are risks with absolutely any medical procedure, surgery certainly being no exception. Just like any other surgery, you can have a reaction to the anaesthetic, there is a risk of infection post-operatively, there may be trauma caused to other close parts of the chests wall such as the underlying musculature, blood vessels and so on. Obviously every care is taken to ensure that this doesn’t happen, and in the hundreds of operations I’ve worked on I’ve only seen one severe reaction to the anaesthetic, and it was very easily and quickly sorted out. Nowadays, most surgery is pretty low risk, but a surgeon would be lying if he said it was risk-free. It is possible to die having a surgical procedure, regardless of the nature of the procedure. Obviously some carry more risk than others. But assuming you are relatively young, with no major health problems, you are at much worse risk of having a car accident that dying on the table.
