That gives them the highest percentage of successful World Series of any team with more than 2 appearances except for the Pittsburgh Pirates. However, the Pirates, with 5 victories in 7 appearances and none in the last 30 years while they have wallowed at the bottom of the standings, so they aren’t exactly trying to claim they are better than the Yankees too often. It’s true the Marlins have a better winning percentage in terms of games, but they’ve only been to 2 World Series. Since the Marlins were founded in 1994, the Yankees have been to 7 and won 5 (just like the Pirates all-time). The Yankees also have the highest winning percentage of any team in baseball history.
