Are the writers of Rome (HBO) at least going to write the script for Season 3?
No. The show was canceled because it was too expensive, and the sets were burned last summer in a wildfire. The show is dead. The writers won’t write new scripts unless someone foots the bill and pays them, and there’s nobody to do that. However, you might enjoy watching “I, Claudius”. It was filmed in the 1970s but is still an excellent miniseries. It’s been jokingly referred to as “Massive Spoilers for HBO’s Rome”. It starts at the end of the reign of Caesar Augustus (Octavian) and follows the family line for a few generations. It’s based upon two excellent books by Robert Graves – “I, Claudius” and “Claudius the God”. The books and miniseries are well worth checking out. The miniseries is available on DVD.
