Are the vibes lucky at Las Vegas Club?
This place has gone through quite an overhaul in recent years, new carpets, new slot machines, and other upgraded casino amenities when Barrick Gaming bought the Las Vegas Club from Jackie Gaughan in 2004. Of course the bottom dropped out of Barrick Gaming 16 months later, and they were ousted from their management position in a very complicated business maneuver that isn’t worth recounting here. Regardless, since that time, the Plaza and Las Vegas Club are “on hold” – some upgrades are taking place, but we have a hunch that current owners/management are going to keep the status quo until a potential buyer grabs the joint and polishes it up. That being said, the Las Vegas Club is still a decent place to go gamble, we’re not big fans of the machines (video poker at the right side bar is tighter than a nun) and the carnival table games give us the creeps. We’d rather play it clean and clear at Binions.
