Are the tides of humanity changing?
I agree that we may be at the beginning of an upswing. Civilization has advanced enormously over the past 10,000 years, but with ups and downs that are much greater than the gradual trend. Yet there have been enormous steps forward in recent centuries — emergence of self-government, official abolition of slavery, partial release of women. Humanity is just beginning an environmental movement. A long long ways to go on all these and others, but I look forward to a positive phase. And of course it is not something that just happens to us. If enough of us work toward an awakening, then the awakening happens.
