Are the StowAway Cargo Carriers waterproof?
A. The StowAway Cargo Carriers are equipped with automotive grade systems to prevent water penetration to the interior contents of the carrier. The Max box incorporates a water channel that captures the water and vents it to the outside via weep holes. The Standard box uses a gasket to seal the lid and base seam and prevent water penetration. Silicone is applied to the taillights on both units. Under severe conditions it still may be possible for slight water penetration to the interior of the box (drops) and we recommend that you protect your gear accordingly.
