Are the social studies required to be taught in elementary school?
Yes. The Texas Education Code ยง 28.002 states that each school district that offers kindergarten through grade 12 shall offer, as part of the required curriculum, instruction in social studies; consisting of Texas, United States, and world history, government, and geography. The Texas Administrative Code Chapter 113 Subchapter A lists the required curriculum for Elementary Social Studies.
