Our services are entirely confidential. We will at no time reveal to any person your name, your student number or any other information that may be used to identify you as a student using our services. If you wish to contact us in a completely anonymous manner, telephone us. That being said, confidentiality is never absolute. If we believe a student poses a serious threat to his or her own personal well-being, or to the personal well-being of another, it is in the best interest of all parties concerned for us to break the confidentiality agreement. Students utilizing our services are required sign a notice of consent. This notice indicates, amongst other things, “I accept that any Department, Faculty or Service of the University of Ottawa disclose pertinent information contained in my student file to the CRÉSAC.” At times, the personnel of the Student Appeal Centre may contact the university administration in order to obtain information concerning a student’s file.
