Are the San Jose Sharks related to the California Golden Seals in any way?
The Golden Seals are related to the Golden Seals. The Seals became the Barons in 1976 and the Barons would end up folding after 2 seasons merging with Minnesota North Stars. However, the NHL allowed half the North Stars to be taken to San Jose in 1991 where they became the San Jose Sharks after the Minnesota North Stars split.
