Yes, the Rug Doctor works great! You just need to follow the directions exactly. On my first time use, it took me 10 minutes to read the instructions and ready the machine. My carpet was pretty soiled by dirt brought in by the dog and spills by the kids. The carpet is only four years old and I thought it might need replaced (the dog is a six month old puppy) and it was pretty filthy. In less than two hours, over 1500 square feet of carpet looked like brand new.
