Are the results of penile widening permanent?
A. The results of penile widening by the liposuction technique are frequently not permanent. Usually only thirty percent of the fat injected into the penis survives after one year. In addition, asymmetry, that is to say, unevenness and nodularity may occur. Frequently, repeat injections (touch ups) to fill in the defects are needed. If you have the widening by the Allograft Dermal Matrix Graft (Alloderm ®) technique the results are much more predictable and permanent. I have been using the Allograft Dermal Matrix Graft (Alloderm ®) technique for almost 6 years and I can tell you from my experience that the results are predictable and appear to be permanent. I do not perform the liposuction technique, and I no longer perform the dermal fat graft technique.
