Are the Residency Advisory Committee (RAC) meetings really important?
A. Yes. A major purpose of the RAC is to link residency training to the external professional and practice community. The program should ensure that the RAC meets at least twice per year and has representation from the sponsoring institution as well as the external training community. The RAC chair must be a physician and the program director is an ex-officio member. RAC minutes must document resident membership and active participation.
