Are the residence halls a safe place to live?
Although no campus or city is free of crime, USF residence halls represent an environment that is responsive to the safety concerns of students. Every hall employs a 24-hour desk staff to help ensure the safety of all residents. All halls require all guests to sign-in and out at the front desk. All students must also use their USF ID cards to gain access into the building they are assigned to live in, and they must show their IDs to the front desk worker as they enter the building (each resident is given an identification sticker to place on his/her ID that is unique to that specific building). Students are encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activity to the Residence Life staff members on duty. Residence hall rooms are secured by locked doors 24 hours a day and students must carry room keys and USF ID with them at all times. The residence halls, like the rest of the campus, are regularly patrolled by Public Safety officers.
