Are the rate caps and reimbursement methodology being revised?
Since there is not any historical cost data available to set the initial rates for this program, IME has done extensive analysis using historical data from both the ARO program and from similar services provided under the MR and BI Waiver programs. For a more detailed summary of what was analyzed and the conslusions drawn, please see the response to public comments document. Even with this analysis, it is difficult to arrive at rate caps that provide a reasonable balance between containing costs and paying providers at an adequate rate. The IME fully intends to continue to analyze provider costs over time, and adjust rate caps when necessary, in order to ensure that we are paying providers adequately.
