Are the prosecutors involved in projects from the beginning?
A. The Neighborhood DA’s are assigned to a particular neighborhood for a period of time ranging from 2 to 11 years. They could be at the beginning of a project or come into it at a later stage. Some problems are still in existence and other strategies are ongoing when the DDAs are assigned. The Senior DDA, who oversees the Neighborhood DA Unit, provides the knowledge transfer along with other unit members.
