Klean Kanteen® uses polypropylene (pp#5) because it contains no Bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical that leaches from some kinds of plastic and has been linked to various diseases. Polypropylene has no known leaching characteristics and is softer than other types of plastic. The caps for all Klean Kanteen® Wide bottles have stainless steel on the inside and stainless cap options are available as accessories for the Classic bottles in the Loop and Flat cap styles.
