Arm Pivot Movement – Make sure the see-through lower guard is rotated closed and is resting against, or very close to, the rubber stops. If not, see the lubrication section of the owner’s manual. Bevel Pivot Movement – check that the miter saw bevels easily by loosening the bevel lock handle and tilting the power head to the left. At least one thread of the pivot bolt should stick out past the hex lock nut. If movement is tight or there is looseness in the pivot, do the following adjustment procedure – loosen the bevel lock handle, adjust the hex lock nut with a 3/4″ or 19MM socket and socket wrench until the head will just hold at 30 degrees bevel without falling, recheck the bevel movement of the miter saw.
