New Harris Interactive survey reveals that adults in Britain are significantly more likely than those in Spain or Germany to perceive state education standards to be good LONDON 14 March 2006 Although we often criticise ourselves for not performing as well as our European competitors, according to a new Harris Interactive survey, 42 percent of British adults feel positively toward standards of state provided education, rating standards as either good, very good or extremely good. In comparison, adults across both Spain and Germany are significantly less positive towards their own state education systems. Only 31 percent of Spanish adults and 22 percent of German adults perceive standards of state provided education to be good, very good or extremely good. In fact about half (49%) of German adults perceive education standards in their country to be poor, a significantly larger proportion than in Spain (43%) or Britain (29%).
