Are the PE facilities and fields at the current intermediate school necessary for middle school education, or are they simply for athletics?

Without question, nearly all physical education facilities have a positive impact on athletics. But, the need that is being addressed by the additional physical education classroom space is for physical education. We have a need for approximately 80 students to participate in the weight room each period. That is the capacity we wish to add. For most of the students, the weight room experience will likely be their only preparation for this aspect of lifetime fitness. In terms of athletics, for the money spent on salaries and equipment, just as in music and other after-school activities, the benefits in terms of student growth, involvement and positive growth are huge. For our students, the opportunities in Noblesville Schools, and in all schools around us, contribute to their development as young adults and positive individuals. Our students’ school experiences would be significantly lessened if after school activities were not part of our program.
