Are the parliamentary privileges codified in India?
Ans : No law so far has been enacted by Parliament (and State Legislatures) to define the powers, privileges and immunities available to each House and its Members. In the absence of any such law, therefore, a large number of powers, privileges and immunities available to Members of Parliament, continue in actual practice to remain unspecified though identified. These are decided by the Houses themselves from time to time.
