The oil companies that are currently using ethanol are very satisfied with the overall safety, economy, and effectiveness of ethanol. Most oil companies have already accepted ethanol. As an example, Marathon Oil Company is projected to buy 460 million gallons in 2004 and is only required to use 55 million gallons in its reformulated gas market.
