Are the numbers printed on the meats packaging a date?
The date code stamped on the product packaging is the packaged date and it is a “Julian Calendar Date” which is a continuous counting of days from January 1, 4713 BC, and is different from our traditional “Gregorian Calendar” that we are all familiar with. This is a computer generated date at the time of packaging. All Capital Meats distribution centers receive new, flash-frozen shipments weekly, and the one year guarantee from Capital Meats covers the product you purchase from your purchase date, regardless of when it is packaged.
