Are the North Mississippi All-Stars on hold, and how did Hill Country Revue come together?
The All-Stars have been on tour all year, and next week is our last week. Hill Country Revue is my heart and soul. I’ve put my all into that and into the band. I handpicked the best musicians I knew. The fact that it came together as quickly and as well as it did is just a blessing. I’ve been blown away by the reception the band has gotten. Last year was a big year for us. We released our debut record on Razor and Tie Records, and now we’re getting offers to play all over the world. We’re going to Italy, we’re going to Spain, we’re going to do a bunch of Canadian festivals this summer and we’re getting real legitimate offers. Hill Country Revue has just turned into my beast, my project, my child, my baby. What motivated you to form Hill County Revue? My brother Luther joined the Black Crowes full time about two and a half years ago, and it put me in a situation where I was going to have to figure out what to do.
