Are the new teaching qualifications for the lifelong learning sector fundable by HEFCE?

0

From September 2007, new initial teaching qualifications for those wishing to teach in the lifelong learning sector are being introduced. Details about them are available on the LLUK web-site at www.lluk.org.uk, by selecting ‘FE Workforce Reforms’. The Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) is a recognised HE course, for the purposes of HEIFES, when it is awarded by a UK higher education institution with degree awarding powers. This will be added to Annex D of future HEIFES publications. However, the following qualifications are not recognised HE courses for the purposes of HEIFES: • The DTLLS, when awarded by a national awarding body (that is, an organisation other than a UK HEI with degree awarding powers) • The Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) • The Preparing to Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification.
