Are the new chevy cobalts a good car?

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – autoinsurance.maclenet.

The Cobalt was essentially the Opel Astra G restyled for the American market. Because it was originally developed by Germans, the car and chassis are really quite well done, so in theory the car had a good start. For a while the Cobalt was the second best selling passenger vehicle in America. Since people tend to vote with their wallets, that’s a pretty ringing endorsement of the car. I’d tend not to buy either the turbocharged ot supercharged variants, because when you start playing with boost through an engine, engine life tends to fall off.

It’s so good, they aren’t going to make it anymore. It will be replaced by the Cruz in 2010.

Those are great cars. I had an 03 cavalier which is just an outdated model of the cobalt and it ran great. Got at least 30mpg city and about 35mpg highway and I drove it a lot but I took great care of it. Finally I had to get the timing chain done at about 150,000 miles then she ran strong again. So I expect this if not better from the cobalt bc it is newer. And this was my first car got it my sophmore year and kept it till my freshman year in college.
