While the above statements are true to a certain extent, what we must realize is that these strategies were developed in a completely different age than the one we live in today. There are many things that are different in the age that these strategies were developed that no longer hold true today. For example, back in the 60’s, 70’s and to a certain extent 80’s, people conducted a lot of business face to face. Doctors and attorneys would come to your house to do a checkup. Salespeople would come to your house to do a presentation. This is how a lot of business was conducted. There was no internet. There was very little research that the average person could do. You simply did a presentation and the person decided at the kitchen table if he or she wanted to accept or reject the concepts you were sharing.
