The amount of your caregivers wage that you are allowed to deduct depends on the number of children and their ages and is limited to a maximum of 2/3 of the salary of the lower wage earner. We recommend that you refer to your accountant or the government web site www.cra-arc.gc.ca or Google the words “T778 form” for a more accurate allowable deduction.
