Are the movers scamming us!?
It’s very common for these “independant” movers to low-ball the quote to get the job, then show up days late and tell you it’s going to cost more, in cash, before they’ll unload your stuff. I would always make sure you’re dealing with a licensed, bonded and insured moving company, but…even those sometimes hire independant sub-contractors who may try to scam you. That happened to my mom last time she moved, but the company that sub-contracted out the move did eventually refund her money.
