Are the molds, lace presses and veiners safe to use on edible items?
Yes. All the molds/presses/veiners are always used with food items. Any use of these products with a non-food item (clay, wax, etc) negates the food grade charastics of the mold. DTC uses a Food Grade Silicone for all molds, presses and veiners. Below is the information from the FDA Compliance that makes this silicone food compliant. Indirect Food Additive Regulations CFR 21 parts 174-178 are Indirect Food Additive Regulations, of which CFR 177.2600 is part of. CFR 177.2600 covers rubber articles intended for repeated use. These are the guidelines that the FG catalyst conforms with. The specific use definition from CFR 21 177.2600 is as follows: Rubber articles intended for repeated use may be safely used in producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food, subject to the provisions of this section.
