Are the MFT programs at Northcentral University COAMFTE accredited?
Both the Master’s and Doctoral MFT programs at Northcentral were developed following COAMFTE Marriage and Family Therapy Educational Guidelines and designed to meet COAMFTE accreditation standards. • We are in the process of applying for COAMFTE accreditation, and have completed the accreditation workshops. The evaluation process takes multiple years and we hope to finish the process sometime in 2012. • The COAMFTE Commissioners have given us positive feedback regarding our programs. • While this accreditation is a good thing that we are purposefully pursuing, in most states, licensure does not require graduation from a COAMFTE accredited program. Please check your state licensure requirements to be sure.
