Are the mega churches in america just a big scam?
As a Christian, I must admit that some churches do turn me off. Christ preached on mountains, in fields and wherever a crowd would gather, but today some churches are just luxurious architectural museums. So long as people continue to support them, they will continue to flourish. As long as the Word of God is preached and followed up with Bible Studies and Christian Fellowship, I guess it is acceptable. I like attending little country churches with just a piano accompanying the choir and a preacher who knows everyone in his congregation. In a small church it is easier to fellowship with the members because you get to know them all by name. Some preachers do leave a lot to be desired, but on the whole, I think most members of the clergy are dedicated people living off a meager salary. They are available 24/7 and, if they are the dedicated ones, are not living in big homes with many cars in the garage. My former preacher used to return his salary to the church at the end of each year. He
