Are the MAXQDA project formats from the various program versions compatible with each other?

0

As with almost all software, compatibility is only possible in one direction. Projects created in older versions of MAXQDA can always be opened in newer versions, but it doesn’t work in the other direction. MAXQDA 10 can open all projects; MAXQDA 2007 can open .mx3, .mx2, and .m2k documents; MAXqda2 can open .mx2 and .m2k documents, and MAXqda1 can only open .m2k documents. If you want to have a version of a project that you can still open in an older version, you need to create backup copy before opening it in the new version.
