Are the Marine Security Operations Centres solely a Department of National Defence operation?

0

No, the Marine Security Operations Centres represent a new level of integration and cooperation between government departments and organizations. For an integrated marine security capability to be effective, many groups have to work together and share information. The Department of National Defence is one of five core partners. The other partners are Canada Border Services Agency, , Department of Fisheries and Oceans/Canadian Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Transport Canada. The establishment of the Marine Security Operations Centres does not alter the jurisdiction related to agency/departmental marine responsibilities.
