Are the labels currently singing artists or is there a signing embargo?
Our A&R department is very open to acts that touch them and music that moves them. If an act is available that we feel we must have at RLG we would sign them. I do not think we would ever say that we have too much of this or too much of that and not sign an amazing talent. How competitive are the three labels among themselves? All three labels are as different as the VPs who lead them. All three are very competitive, knowledgeable, experienced, creative, and loyal. I am amazed how different the three VPs are in their strategies, take on music, and approach to launching and maintenance of projects. By having three highly creative and driven label heads this keeps everyone on a creative edge. They challenge themselves and the rest of the company everyday to stay ahead of the curve-all extremely clever people who have the respect and devotion of their staff.
